Due date for supplies for packing party or self-packed boxes or financial donations: Sunday, October 25
Come check out the table each Sunday this month before or after church! There will be supplies/information, and you can sign up for how you’d like to be involved!!
If you have any questions, please contact Lorri Graham at (760) 920-3947 (text or call… if you text, include your name so she knows who you are!)
Please determine what you want to donate, and let Lorri know, that we don’t duplicate or run short. Thank you!!
We are hoping some people will want to do their own box and will bring it to church on Sunday, October 25.
We are hoping that some others will donate supplies (see list of needed items… you can choose other things as well (but please look at the list of what we can and cannot send so you don’t donate something we can’t use!!) https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/what-goes-in-my-shoebox-suggestions/
We are also hoping that many will donate towards the shipping of each box ($9 per box). And if you don’t want to donate supplies, you may donate towards the supplies and we’ll buy it for you!
We would also like to provide for many children to go to the Discipleship Program! That’s $6 per child.
Don’t want to donate but want to be involved? We’d love to include a letter in each box! (see below for ideas)
There are also coloring pages the kids can color and give to us to use in the boxes!! (These will be available at the table on Sundays and probably Tuesdays)

The Greatest Journey: Discipleship Program – $6 per child
After receiving shoebox gifts, many children are invited back to participate in our discipleship program, The Greatest Journey. Through this 12-lesson course, which includes Bible stories and Scripture memorization, they learn how to follow Christ in their daily lives as they share Him with friends and family.
After completing The Greatest Journey, children attend a graduation celebration and receive a certificate.
Most importantly, they are given a Bible that includes the New Testament and selected Old Testament stories along with a dictionary of Biblical terms and a map of Bible lands. Complete with illustrations, it is often the first copy of God’s Word the child, or their family, will own.
Family and friends who attend the ceremony hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Hearing the Good News and testimonies during their loved one’s graduation reinforces the changes they have seen in the students’ lives, and their families often come to faith in Christ.

A Personal Note:
You may enclose a note to the child and a photo of yourself, your family, or group. If you include your name and an address, the child may be able to write back.
*Samaritan’s Purse encourages Operation Christmas Child shoebox donors to include a personal note in each shoebox gift to encourage the recipient child in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Some donors also include photos and addresses. Occasionally, pen-pal relationships have developed over the years between shoebox packers and the recipient.
Samaritan’s Purse encourages donors who include their mailing address to be cautious of correspondence from shoebox recipient countries, especially letters written to children. Correspondence from a stranger should be treated with caution and awareness. Samaritan’s Purse does not encourage shoebox recipients or ministry partner churches around the world to solicit support from our donors.
